Is “Permanent Spousal Support” really permanent?

Often clients believe that “permanent spousal support” means support has to be paid forever. That is not necessarily what is meant by permanent.

This term is used to distinguish the difference between orders for spousal support that are entered before a Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage (which are called Temporary Orders) and the orders made in a Final Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage.
